A. Information from Registered Members

To use our URL shortening services, you must register for an account. We collect information when you sign up directly or choose to log in via a third-party authentication provider:

  • Account Information: If you register directly, we collect your name, username, email address, password, and account preferences.

  • Google Authentication Data: If you choose to log in alternatively using your Google/Gmail account, Google will prompt you for permission to share certain profile details with us. We collect and store your email address, name, and profile picture URL as provided by Google to create and authenticate your CuttGoo account.

  • Subscription & Payment Data: If you upgrade to a paid version, payments are processed securely through PayPal. We do not store or collect your payment card details on our servers. All financial data is provided directly to PayPal, whose use of your personal information is governed by their own Privacy Policy.

  • Content Provided: The original, long URLs that you submit to be shortened.

B. Information from Link Clickers (Analytics Data)

When someone clicks a shortened link generated by a CuttGoo member, we automatically process certain non-personally identifying information to provide analytics to the link creator:

  • IP Addresses: Processed to determine the approximate geographic location (country, region, or city) of the click.
  • Device and Browser Data: Operating system, browser type, device type (mobile vs. desktop), and language settings.
  • Referrer Information: The platform or website where the shortened link was clicked (e.g., social media networks, apps, or emails).

Timestamp: The exact date and time the link was clicked.

2. Third-Party Analytics and Advertising Tools

We use third-party tools on our website to analyze traffic and optimize our marketing efforts:

  • Matomo Analytics: We use Matomo to understand how visitors interact with cuttgoo.com. Matomo collects data regarding your browser type, operating system, and pages visited.
  • Meta Pixel: We use the Meta Pixel to track visitor behavior on our site. This allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, optimize ads, and build targeted audiences for Meta platforms (like Facebook and Instagram).
